2024 Reitz Cub Baseball Sign-ups

Sign-ups for the 2024 Reitz Cub Baseball Players Only (2023-2024 8th Graders) has begun.  Reitz Cub Baseball is for 8th-grade players attending a Reitz feeder school. Tryouts will be Sunday, September 10th, and Sunday, September 17th from 1 PM to 4 PM at the Reitz Barker Complex.  Players are strongly encouraged to show up to both tryouts. Once a team is selected, practices will be weekly on Sundays.  When weather/temperatures allow,  practices will be on the field from 1 PM – 4 PM. Once the weather gets colder, we will move to the Hack Shack at shorter times that will slightly vary in that same time frame.  Games start mid-March and ends with a tournament the week before Labor Day.  Games are typically on Sundays, but weather events may cause a variation for make-ups.   Prospective players should come to tryouts in baseball attire (t-shirt, baseball pants, and hat) with BOTH cleats and tennis shoes available to wear.  Players who are catchers should bring their catchers gear.  All players should bring their batting helmets. BATS:  Players must use BBCOR bats that are drop-3 in weight (for example, a 32-inch, 29-ounce bat) and the games utilize high school baseball rules.  If you do not have a BBCOR/drop-3 bat, DO NOT BUY ONE YET! The coaches have plenty of bats the kids can use to see what size works best for their strength levels. The BBCOR/drop-3 bats are a huge change from the lighter bats and very expensive.  You do not want to buy one only to find out your
